Cincinnati Public Schools Conduct Pre-Term Interviews to Fill Vacancies – WLWT Cincinnati | Region & Cash

With the school right around the corner, Cincinnati Public Schools are making sure they have enough staff ahead of the New Year. There are more than 100 vacancies in the CPS, and now the district is hosting on-site interviews throughout the month to fill vacancies before the kids come on the bus Thursday, August 18 “I want to get my feet wet again and again return to the teaching environment,” said CPS applicant Renée Brown. Brown grew up in Cincinnati. She was a teacher in Florida and now hopes this is a chance to bring her back into the school system this time as a substitute teacher. She says this is a one-stop shop for job interviews at several CPS schools. “It’s not a pretentious situation. It’s not an intimidating situation. It’s very open,” Brown said. “This is very important.” The district has 70 teaching positions open, 70 paraprofessional positions open, 40 custody opportunities and five security positions. “We want every child to start day one with a teacher in the classroom,” said CPS Superintendent Iranetta Wright. “We’re really persistent and make sure we get out into the community and make sure we take on any candidates who come in for interviews to look for exactly the right position for them. “Though there are many vacancies, Wright says schools will be ready for students on day one. “School starts on August 18 so we want to make sure all positions are filled by August 18. If you are interested, if you are looking for work, if you are unsure if we have something that will work for you, please contact our offices,” Wright said. There’s a major hiring event on Monday, July 25 that day right here from nine to four. There is a pre-registration for this, but we also accept all walk-ins during this time. We really want to make sure we’re engaging with the community. We have many job opportunities regardless of what a person can do. We have a job for her, so we want our community to come in to see what we have to offer and take a job in our district,” Wright said. The next walkable Wednesday is next week on Wednesday, July 27 at 2651 Burnet Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45219. You can register online here.
