Compassus appoints Kathy Winn as senior vice president, chief marketing officer

Compassus, a home care provider based in Brentwood, Tennessee, announced that Kathy Winn will serve as the company’s new senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Winn comes to Compassus from LifePoint Health, where she previously served as vice president of strategic marketing.

“I am excited to join a company that has a strong, established brand and is committed to living its brand promise at every level of the organization, from the care it provides to patients and families to the attention it devotes to wellbeing of his team members,” Winn said in a press release. “I look forward to working with a team of passionate, talented individuals to spread awareness of Compassus’ quality services to help more patients and families.”

In addition to home healthcare services, Compassus also offers infusion therapy, palliative care, and hospice care at 200 locations in 30 states.

In January, the company named David Grams as its new CEO. Grams succeeded Jim Deal, who is still with Compassus as Chairman of the Board.

HCP appoints Kristen Duell as new CMO

Idaho-based research and education company Home Care Pulse has named Kristen Duell as its new Chief Marketing Officer.

In a press release, Duell said she’s excited to join Home Care Plus, a company — a research firm that reports on human resources and financial developments — that aligns with her own beliefs.

“As an advocate for women in healthcare, I see three ways agencies can act as catalysts for change: developing leaders within their organizations, creating meaningful career paths, and leveraging solutions that facilitate integration between personal and professional lives,” Duell said in the press release.

Prior to joining HCP, Duell was Executive Vice President of KanTime.

“Kristen brings a unique blend of healthcare leadership and passion for mobilizing all facets of pre- and post-acute care that will transform how agencies adapt to rising challenges,” said Todd Austin, President of HCP. “Having worked closely with Kristen for many years, we are excited to incorporate her experience and relationships into our products and services, and continue to provide tools that help agencies overcome staffing bottlenecks and provide excellent care.”

Synergy HomeCare appoints Louwana Ball as VP of Operations

Synergy Homecare has expanded its leadership team and announced Louwana Ball as VP of Operations.

As part of the company’s senior management team, Ball will report to Synergy CEO Charlie Young and focus on accelerating the franchise’s growth strategies.

“I look forward to improving and streamlining our business processes to create an agile operating model that can increase the profitability and value of the franchise over the long term,” Ball said in a press release. “The ability to create a swipe from headquarters to home will be critical in helping our franchisees connect with customers in their communities and help them live their best life.”

Synergy is a Gilbert, Arizona-based non-medical home care franchise that operates more than 400 locations nationwide. In addition to personal assistance, housekeeping, home care and 24-hour home care, the company also offers support services.

Before joining Synergy, Ball spent more than 15 years in the franchise business. Her most recent role was Associate Vice President of Operations at Regis Corporation, a franchisor with brands such as Supercuts, Smart Style and Roosters.

Axxess welcomes PwC veteran Tom Codd as the company’s first Chief People Officer

Axxess, the Dallas-based home health software provider, has created a brand new role at the company to manage its global growth.

Tom Codd, a former PwC partner, has been appointed Chief People Officer.

“It’s rare to have the opportunity to hire someone with Tom’s leadership skills and extensive experience across so many businesses,” said John Olajide, founder and CEO of Axxess, in a press release. “As we expand our interests around the world, Tom will play a critical role in managing our most valuable asset – our people.”

Olajide and Codd worked together through the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce in the Executive Committee of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
