Merrill Chamber Hires New Marketing Director – Merrillfotonews | Region & Cash

Merrill’s Sarah Sturm was recently hired as the new part-time Marketing Director at the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce. In her new role, she will work to enhance the Chamber members’ experience, “showcase the great world of business” and “raise awareness of all that Merrill has to offer,” including “the activities and opportunities that are appropriate for all ages.” are great! ‘ said Storm.
Specifically, “I will be running the social media channels, continuing the Merrill Member Moments videos, and creating newsletters and emails that will be sent to our email list,” she said. “I will also be doing things for the visitor side and making sure our antechamber is stocked with guides and information on places to visit.”
Sturm was born and raised in Wabasha, Minnesota. [population 2,655 in 2020]where she worked part-time at the city’s chamber of commerce during her college summers.
She is a 2013 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse with a degree in Organizational and Professional Communication, with minors in Professional Technical Writing and Photography. While at LaCrosse, Sturm also volunteered with the LaCrosse Area Chamber of Commerce as a Chamber Ambassador.
While living in LaCrosse, she held a variety of positions including “Sales and Marketing Positions,” “Recruiting and Marketing Coordinator for Coldwell Banker River Valley, REALTORS,” and “Direct Mail Specialist for The Buyers Express.”
Most recently, Sturm worked for the Park City Credit Union in Merrill [PCCU] as their business development manager who oversees the marketing department.”
“PCCU was a great place to work and a great opportunity to get actively involved in the Merrill community right away,” said Sturm. She is a member of the Merrill Noon Optimists and was an Ambassador for the Merrill Chamber before leaving the PCCU.
“I left to do this part-time job at the Chamber so I can spend more time with my family!” Sturm said. She and her husband Ben [a Merrill native] moved to Merrill together in 2018 and are now parents to their 18-month-old son Lincoln. This part-time job allows her to spend more time with her son and exploring the Merrill area, she said. Through her work at the chamber, she looks forward to “encouraging the growth of the city by promoting everything that needs to be done,” she added.
Sarah, Ben and Lincoln live in Merrill with their cat Indy and their dog Junior.
